code of conduct

This site is designed as a helpful resource for job hunters. Please be reasonable when you submit reviews. We advise the following principles

- Do not simply ostentate about how great your company is.

- Similarly, do not simply vent insults about your company

- Instead, be specific; be balanced (every company is good at something, and bad at something) and be helpful

If your company is good, tell people that it is, and tell them why: give examples. If you have experienced dissatisfaction or upset in your company, give a rational, even explanation of the company.

You must only upload user content (by writing a review or similar) if you are doing so entirely freely, with no one (including your company) having mandated you or forced you in any way to write anything specific. By uploading your contribution and accepting these terms and conditions, you confirm that your contribution is true, accurate, is your own opinion and is derived from your personal experience. It is strictly prohibited to contribute content as an impersonation, for example by claiming to be an employee for a company that you have not worked for.

This site is intended to be a constructive platform where employees reveal useful details about the nature of their companies. It is specifically not designed to be used for any defamatory or illegal material of any nature (including any content that could be considered unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material. This includes restricted, classified and confidential company information. You must not submit any user content to the website that is or has ever been the subject of any threatened or actual legal proceedings or other similar complaint).

Please think very carefully about any negative comments that you may make as it is your responsibility to ensure that your user content is in no way defamatory. In terms of fake or defamatory submissions, obviously we can't possibly verify all of the details of all of the submissions. However, companies or individuals who feel that a defamatory or libellous comment has been submitted are invited to contact us to explain what comment they object to, and why they believe it is objectionable. We may choose to uphold the objection, or reject it, as we see fit.

Due to the nature of the site, there is always the risk of biased comments being submitted. Obviously, one person's bias may be another person's opinion. However, any comments that are simply crude, rude, gratuitous, or otherwise inappropriate are removed. Any comments that represent an attempt to vent, or obviously attack, may be edited or removed completely: this site is supposed to be helpful to job hunters; it is not a forum for venting anger or insulting companies, and it is in our own interest to maintain a rational and helpful standard of data.

It is only companies upon which feedback is collected. There are certain principles that are fairly common sense; naming of individuals within an organisation would most certainly be censored. While we may not suppress just criticism of certain areas of business life within an organisation (e.g.: "The management don't communicate well.") we would always censor name calling, or unreasonable ‘naming and shaming’ (e.g.: "John Doe in Sales in useless as a boss!").
